About Us

Apex Mountain Skills is run by husband and wife team, Jack and Lindsay.

We are passionate about sharing our love for the mountains with all of our clients and take a very pragmatic approach to how we teach our courses.

If you want Jack to take you to remote corners of the country and bag multiple Munros in a day, then let's do it. If you've never been up a hill before but want to get started, we'd love to show you the way at a pace that suits you. There is no 'one size fits all' approach so we find the one that works for you.

All of the photos on this website have been taken by either Jack or Lindsay on their mountain adventures, so if you've been inspired by something you see then get in touch and we'll take you there.

Meet the team

Jack

He first went up a Munro aged 7 and hasn't stopped going up mountains since. From the Alps, to the Himalayas, to the Canadian Rockies, Jack's been fortunate to see some big peaks up close, though nothing quite compares to Scotland in his mind.

Things Jack enjoys: big boulders, alpine starts, and club moss (he doesn't miss a chance to point it out). Suffice to say he loves being outdoors, and as a qualified Mountain Leader you'll be in good hands with him.

Lindsay

Lindsay grew up in a coastal town without many hills, so it wasn’t until later in life that she found the joy and freedom of being in the mountains. During the week she is a practicing veterinarian working in higher education, and her experience with teaching helps shape our classes and courses. Lindsay is currently working toward her Mountain Leader qualification.

Lindsay loves: running downhill, her hiking poles, and snacking on salty potatoes (don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it!). She is a firm believer that the outdoors is for everyone and is passionate about giving people the skills and confidence to enjoy getting out in the mountains safely.
